Hollins launches first-year internship opportunities.

First-year students may apply for one of a limited number of competitive internships. Below are a few students who talk about their experiences during Short Term 2011.

Ashleigh Boisseau

Ashleigh Boisseau '14, Richmond, VA

Ashleigh interned at Chocolate Paper, a retail store in downtown Roanoke. Ashleigh learned about chocolates from around the world and assisted with market research for inventory and product placement.

Abigail Minor

Abigail Minor '14, Muncy, PA

During Abigail's internship at the History Museum of Western Virginia, she helped catalog the museum's special collections, including the arrowhead collection. She hopes to be a museum curator.

Jessica spent her Short Term at the Roanoke Valley Convention and Visitors Bureau, where she helped organize events and did cataloging.

Cecelia helped archive historical documents in the Virginia Room of the Roanoke City Library. She is thinking about a career as a librarian and says her internship gave her more insight into that career.
