Athlete of the Week - October 3, 2011

Senior tennis player Trudy Siziba is the Hollins Student-Athlete of the week.  The Hollins tennis team played their final event of the fall when they competed in the ODAC Fall Individual Tennis Championships.  The two-day event was hosted by Randolph Macon College in Ashland, VA.  In an event that saw Hollins players reach six of the 11 finals, Trudy was the lone Hollins winner.  Siziba defeated her opponent from Sweet Briar by a score of 7-5, 6-2 to win the Flight 7 Singles Final.  Siziba also teamed with Caitlin Hoerr to reach the final match in Flight 4 Doubles where they fell to the team from Sweet Briar in a tightly contested 8-6 match.  Siziba, from Zimbabwe, will graduate from Hollins in December.
