Cortland, NY - Hollins University Golf at Martin & Wallace Invitational October 2, 2011

Results

Hollins traveled to New York to compete in the Martin & Wallace Invitational hosted by SUNY Cortland.  Cortland Country Club played host to the two day event.  The field consisted of 63 golfers from 11 different schools.  The windy, cold, and rainy weather proved to be the ultimate winner as the event was shortened to one day.

J.R. Woolwine (Fairfax, VA/Fairfax) shot an 85 on the 5,800 yard, par 72 course.  Her effort was good enough for 15th overall and helped to lead Hollins to a sixth place finish in a field that was paced by national power Methodist University.  First-year Coty Hudson (Lynchburg, VA/E.C. Glass) finished just outside the top 2o by just one spot.  Autum Russell (Chantilly, VA/Westfield) and Gabby Radar (San Antonio, TX/Alamo Heights) also competed for Hollins during the event.

Hollins will travel to Ohio for their final event of the fall next weekend.  They will compete in the Pat Clouse Invitational hosted by Wittenberg University and held at the Windy Knoll Golf Club in Springfield, OH.
