Hollins Falls In Final Road Game

Greensboro, NC - Hollins University Lacrosse at Guilford College, April 9, 2014

Box Score

For the final time this regular season, the Hollins lacrosse team went on the road in search of a conference victory.  Hollins looked for their second straight victory when they traveled to face Guilford College on Wednesday evening.  Hollins came into the matchup after picking up a win at Wilson while the first place Quakers were looking to continue their perfect ODAC season.

Guilford and their 6-0 ODAC mark got off to a quick start verses their visitors by scoring just over three minutes into the game.  The Quakers continued their hot start by scoring 10 goals over the first 20 minutes of action.  Hollins was not able to slow down their hosts and as the halftime break approached, found themselves in a down by a score of 13-0.

After having a chance to catch their breathe during the break, Hollins came out in the second half and was able to give the Quakers a much better match.  The Hollins defense began to slow the Guilford attack while seeing their offense have several scoring chances.  Hollins finally broke through the Quaker defense and netted back to back goals to trim the lead but it wasn't enough as Guilford went on to an 18-2 ODAC win.
