Hollins hosted Washington & Lee University on Tuesday afternoon.  It marked the third straight home game against the top three teams in the ODAC standings.  The Generals came into the contest with no losses in their five conference games.  Hollins was not able to get going early and gave up two goals in the first 12 minutes.  The defense settled in and held the visitors scoreless until the final minute of the first half when W&L scored after a turnover in the Hollins zone.  The defense stood up in the second half and kept the Generals off the board, but the offense couldn't crack the W&L defense and Hollins fell 3-0.

Kristen Norkus (Gainesville, VA/Battlefield) made seven stops and the defense only allowed 10 W&L shots to reach goal.  The Hollins defense blocked several shots and helped to keep the game within reach throughout.  Kelly Hunt (Broadlands, VA/Briar Woods) and Dani Frankiln (Chesapeake Beach, MD/Northern) lead Hollins in shots.

Washington & Lee got single goals from Holley Beasley, Katherine Rush, and Allie Espina.  Emily Leary pitched a shut-out in goal recording one save.

Hollins will step out of conference on Thursday when they host Bluefield College.  The game is a re-scheduled contest from earlier in the year.  The game with the Rams will start at 4:00pm.
