Results

After a great start to the 2011-12 season, the Hollins swim team took their 3-1 record on the road for a meet with Davis & Elkins College.  The meet with the Division II Senators was the second time this season that Hollins stepped out of DIII to face an opponent.  After failing to knock off the DI Keydets of VMI, Hollins dominated the meet with Davis & Elkins by winning 13 of the 14 events leading to their first road win of the season, 95-19.

Audrey James (Fremont, CA) and Maggie Dwyer (Norwich, VT) each won three individual events and teamed with Devyn Whitlock (Stafford, VA) and Meg O'Brien (Chattanooga, TN) to win the 400 Freestyle Relay.  James won the 100 Backstroke, 50 Freestyle, and 200 Backstroke while Dwyer picked up wins in the 200 Freestyle, 200, Butterfly, and the 100 Butterfly.  Whitlock picked up individual wins in the 100 Breaststroke and the 200 Individual Medley and O'Brien won the 1000 and 500 Freestyle events.  Grace Iaquinto (Huntington, WV) also picked up first place points by winning the 200 Breaststroke.  Iaquinto also teamed with Geordan West (Monument, CO), Chastity Poole (Edinburg, VA), and Juanica Nash (Detroit, MI) to win the 200 Medley Relay.

Hollins will compete in the pool one more time before the holiday break when they travel to Sweet Briar.  The tri-meet with the Vixens and Ferrum College is scheduled for December 3rd at 1:00pm.
