Results

After getting off to a 2-0 start over the weekend, the Hollins swim team was back in the pool on Thursday night.  DI VMI was the opponent as Hollins was looking to run their home win streak to three on the young season.  Despite winning three events, one with a Hollins varsity record time, Hollins was unable to stay perfect and fell to their visitors from Lexington, 111-87.

Reigning Hollins Student-Athlete of the Week Maggie Dwyer (Norwich, VT) continued her impressive season by winning two events.  Dwyer won the 500 Freestyle by over 20 seconds.  Earlier in the meet, Maggie set a Hollins record by swimming the 1000 Freestyle in a time of 11:27.35 and won the event by over two full minutes.  Ashley Gao (Pearland, TX) picked up first place points in the 100 Butterfly, giving Hollins three wins in the 11 event meet.

Hollins will be back in the pool this weekend when they host Ferrum College.  The meet with the Panthers is scheduled to start at 2:00pm.
