Box Score

Bridgewater College came to Roanoke on Wednesday night for an ODAC match against a Hollins squad in need of a win.  Hollins, happy to be back on its home court, looked to get back in the win column for the first time since their last home appearance.

Hollins and Bridgewater traded points for much of the first part of the opening set.  The Eagles pulled away late and took a 1-0 lead, 25-17.  The second set was much the same as the first but this time it was the home team that took the lead late and held on to even the match at a set apiece, 25-23.  After a short break the visitors came out hot and opened up a big lead en route to taking the third stanza 25-12.  In the fourth set, Hollins found themselves in a 16-22 hole before making a rally.  Hollins pulled within three points, 20-23, before the Eagles were able to finish off Hollins 25-20 to take the match.

Lauren Hays (Saginaw, TX) recorded 16 kills with just three errors to lead the Hollins offense.  Hays added a pair of blocks and two service aces.  Ally Reed (Sterling, VA) killed 10 attacks, served two aces, and came up with 21 digs.  Lela Moore (Woodleaf, NC) led Hollins with 33 assists while Jessie Deese (Cary, NC) added 21 digs.
