Creative Talent, Music, Leadership, and Science/Math Awards Information Form for Incoming First-Year Students

This form is designed for those who wish to be considered for a Creative Talent, Music, Leadership or Science/Math award, each of which recognizes exceptional talent, involvement, and demonstrated financial need.

To receive any of these awards, you must complete the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) at www.fafsa.ed.gov. Hollins University's code is #003715.

All materials will be accepted through February 20, 2013. Please submit to Stacey Hill.

Award Information
Creative Talent Award

Up to $5,000 per year.

Creative Writing  Photography  Visual Arts

Students who excel in creative writing, photography, and/or visual arts must submit a portfolio with the application.

Dance  Theatre 

Those with exceptional talent in dance or theatre must either complete a campus audition on November 5, February 8 or 11, or send a DVD to the address above by February 1. Please contact Stacey Hill at 540.362.6215 or hillsm2@hollins.edu to schedule an audition. Instruction Sheet (pdf)

Music

Musicians should complete a campus audition or email a recording to Stacey Hill at hillsm2@hollins.edu (you can also mail a CD or DVD to the Office of Admission) by February 1. Please contact Stacey Hill (hillsm2@hollins.edu or 540.362.6215) to schedule an audition on November 5, February 8 or 11. Those auditioning for the McCullough Voice Award need to submit a statement pertaining to their aspirations for study in vocal music. See instruction sheet (pdf) for details.

Leadership

Up to $5,000 per year. For students who have demonstrated leadership characteristics and a desire to further develop those skills at Hollins. Instruction Sheet (pdf)

Science and Math

Up to $5,000 per year. For students with a keen interest in the fields of science and/or math who wish to continue their studies in these areas. Instruction Sheet (pdf)
