Adaptation: Two New Exhibits

Two new exhibits in the library explore contemporary adaptation:

“Margaret Wise Brown in Parody & Popular Culture” 
References to Margaret Wise Brown are everywhere, from cartoons to tattoos.  This display features some fun examples from Special Collections.  The display is located on the 3rd floor of the library (near the Hollins Room).

“Silent Film: Don’t Call it a Comeback”
“The Artist” and “Hugo” went head to head at this year’s Academy Awards, both paying homage to the silent film era.This isn’t the first time Hollywood has caught the retro bug: the influence of silent film can be seen in many of your favorite contemporary films and even in music videos…come and take a look on the library’s 1st floor.
