The President’s Higher Education Community Service Honor Roll has recognized Hollins six times since the program’s inception in 2006.

College Presidents for Gun Safety, a coalition of more than 160 college and university presidents, issued an open letter to U.S. policy makers requesting “thoughtful and urgent action to ensure that current and future generations may live and learn in a country free from the threat of gun violence.”
The initiative provides production assistance and travel costs for dozens of student readings and productions in legitimate theatres.

Co-sponsored by the State Council of Higher Education for Virginia, the Hollins Elementary Science Institute is in its fifth year.
Abby Hargreaves ’14 has launched a Facebook campaign to get people from across the nation to take part in “Write a Letter Day” April 30.
The event takes place Saturday, April 21 from 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. at the Roanoke Civic Center. Consumer electronics, hand-held devices, kitchen and beauty appliances, tools and more will be accepted.
