Hollins University’s duPont Chapel will host its annual Gospel Fest on Friday, April 13 at 7 p.m. This year’s program benefits the scholarship established in the memory of Shalynda Toney, a Hollins student and Vinton resident who passed away while studying abroad in Italy in the fall of 2009.
Admission to Gospel Fest is free and an offering will be taken during the event on behalf of the scholarship fund.
Worship leader and gospel artist William McDowell (pictured), whose latest album, Arise, hit number one on Billboard’s Top Gospel and Top Praise and Worship charts in November 2011, headlines this year’s concert. Arise also topped the iTunes Christian/Gospel chart upon its release.
Parking for Gospel Fest is available at Community School, located across Williamson Road from the main entrance to the Hollins campus, and shuttle service will be provided to and from duPont Chapel.
