Looking for an adventure for this summer? Take a look at Hollinsummer, a great combination of learning and fun, on one of Virginia's most beautiful campuses. With seven distinct experiences, Hollinsummer encourages students to explore their talents with opportunities ranging from creative writing to whitewater adventure.

Develop creative writing skills through interactions with Hollins' outstanding graduate children's literature program while participating in a literary camp designed for the emerging writer.

Delve into your passion for math and science through observation and analysis. Campers will experience advanced scientific experimentation in a laboratory led by members of Hollins' exceptional science faculty.

Ignite the spark of leadership in the world through invaluable service learning initiatives in the Roanoke Valley. This camp will enhance appreciation for global challenges and develop lasting confidence and strength in the classroom.

This introduction to the sport of whitewater kayaking is designed for both beginning and experienced paddlers. Campers will learn from an American Canoe Association certified instructor affiliated with Girls at Play, a group dedicated to providing resources to women interested in whitewater kayaking.

Developed to teach the basics of a cappella singing, this camp allows participants to explore their skills in contemporary a cappella. Campers will work together to learn about harmony, perfect various vocal techniques, and arrange their own music, as well as watch and discuss video clips.

Examining moments in history, participants will discuss major historical events and speculate on the "What ifs..." of the past. Focusing on major turning points in their personal lives and communities, as well as a global perspective, participants will analyze the impact of these events on basic decision making about lifestyle and morality.

This camp offers Roanoke area riders the opportunity to learn more about hunter/jumper riding and the care of horses from experienced college instructors. Two camp options offer riders of different levels the opportunity to gain knowledge and self-confidence throughout the week.
