Skills clinic, designed to teach the fundamentals of volleyball. This camp devotes training sessions to the fundamentals of each skill: serving, passing, setting, hitting, blocking, and digging. Drills are designed to teach campers proper technique that will allow them to continue to improve after the camp. The camp will also include various competitions and games. Campers will be broken into groups according to their age and skill level.
Grades: 7 - 12
Time: 9 a.m. - noon

Position clinic, designed to teach the fundamentals of a single position. Camp director

Jason KozakJason Kozak, Hollins’ head volleyball coach, spent six seasons as an assistant coach of the women’s volleyball team at the University of Virginia.

A native of Rochester, New York, and a graduate of SUNY-Brockport, Kozak mentored five All-American, five All-Region, and ten All-ACC players in his tenure at UVA, during which time the team compiled a 114-77 record and posted 18 or more wins in each of his final five seasons. The 2006 squad was a particular standout, finishing second in the ACC with a school-record 16 conference wins and a 23-8 overall record. Kozak was UVA’s recruiting coordinator in 2007 and served as director for the university’s volleyball camps beginning in 2005.

Before joining the coaching staff at UVA, Kozak was an assistant at the University of Pennsylvania, where he helped lead the women’s volleyball squad to the Ivy League Co-Championship and an NCAA tournament appearance in 2001; Appalachian State University; and SUNY-Brockport.

Volleyball Satellite Camps

Brought to Your Gym by the Hollins University Coaching Staff

High school volleyball is getting more competitive each year. Teams that excel season after season are taking advantage of off-season skills training. Several programs are gaining this edge by participating in overnight team camps during the summer. While this is a terrific option, it is not financially viable for all.

Our satellite camp program offers an opportunity for volleyball athletes in your area to train with collegiate-level coaches in the comfort of their own neighborhood. Our staff will come to your gym and instruct your athletes in the latest techniques and methods of volleyball. Sessions can be tailored to meet the specific skill needs of your group. Our staff will be more than willing to answer your volleyball questions and give honest assessments of the players in camp. Hosting a satellite camp at your facility is a fantastic opportunity for area players to improve their skills and work together, all while saving money over a traditional overnight team camp.

Our staff is available at various times during the months of May, June, July and August. We would love the opportunity to teach the volleyball players in your area. If you are interested in hosting an event this year, please contact us to get the ball rolling.

Fees and Structure:

  • $40 a day per athlete for two sessions of training
  • Recommended: three-day camp, two sessions per day
  • Minimum of 10 campers
  • Campers will receive a t-shirt, instruction, and evaluation of their skills
  • Ages: rising 8th graders to rising seniors
