The late Betty Sams Christian ’43 made the Library of Virginia’s 2012 list of Virginia Women in History. Christian was president of Central Coca-Cola Bottling Company for more than twenty years and was a noted philanthropist. Previous winners include Pocahontas, Ellen Glasgow, and Dolley Madison.
