Maria St.Clair ’03 may not look the part. The winsome blonde is a middle-aged mother of three, but her vocals were killer enough to land her the job two years ago as lead singer for the Roanoke punk band Oinker. According to a feature article in The Roanoke Times (5/8/11), St.Clair, whose day job is membership manager for the local art museum, loves the outlet singing in the band provides. “It really helps me to get out there and scream and yell and just be with the guys,” she said. To her five-year-old daughter, Penelope, St.Clair is “a rock star and she’s going to save the world.”
