Medical schools seek applicants with a solid foundation in the natural sciences. They also value students who communicate clearly and value diversity; pursue academic interests not directly related to science; and practice good social skills and know how to work in teams.
A Hollins education produces these well-rounded students. Through scientific study, students master skills in both lab and field research and present their findings at scientific seminars and conferences. In addition, our undergraduates get to understand life experiences different from their own. They’re encouraged to explore other areas of study and engage in a vibrant campus life where one can interact with others, have fun, and learn about group dynamics.
Pursue your pre-med interests through self-discovery and preparation at Hollins.

Pre-Med
Hollins offers pre-med courses that correspond to the requirements for admission to most medical schools. Students should consult the Medical School Admissions Requirements for recommendations from specific medical schools. The pre-med program also prepares students for the Medical College Admission Test (MCAT).
