    About the Role

    The Accountant/Senior Accountant assists in performing the university’s accounting operations and internal controls through monitoring and reconciling the general ledger activity for accuracy, preparing journal entries, and helping with monthly/fiscal year-end closes, financial statement preparations, and audits.  This position reports to the Accounting Director and supervises approximately two work-study students.

    Specific duties include the following:

    • Prepares balance sheet reconciliations within 45 days of close for cash, short-term investments, receivables, payables, payroll, and fees paid in advance, as well as prepaid, suspense, loan, and agency accounts. Requests support from system responsibility owners to investigate variances.
    • Books journal entries including credit card transactions and mail, copier, and van activities.
    • Closes the ledger monthly and updates and distributes the operational calendar.
    • Serves as the primary contact for the accounting@hollins.edu email account.
    • Supports the campus community on questions regarding their ledger and budget accounts.
    • Assists with fiscal year-end close, preparation of financials statements, audit requests, and tax return preparations as needed.
    • Reviews property, facilities, and equipment for correct application of relevant generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) to the acquisition, disposition/sale, and depreciation of assets.
    • Assists in ensuring appropriate accounting of donor restricted funds.
    • Aids with system enhancements, documenting and testing internal controls, and implementing new policies and procedures.
    • Helps train and guide the part-time Cashier/Accounting Assistant and work-study students for accounting matters.

     

    Position Qualifications 

    Successful applicants must have the following qualifications and experience: 

    • Bachelor’s degree.
    • Minimum three years of relevant experience for Accountant position and minimum six years of relevant experience for Senior Accountant position.
    • Strong knowledge of accounting and reporting policies and procedures.
    • Excellent communication, customer service, detail, accuracy, organizational, problem-solving, analytical, and critical thinking skills.
    • Proven abilities to meet deadlines, make sound judgments, manage confidential and sensitive matters, and work effectively with internal and external constituents.
    • Microsoft Office proficiency.

     

    Preferred candidates will have the following:

    • Bachelor’s degree in accounting.
    • Current or pursuing CPA certification.
    • Proficiency with query tools (e.g., Power BI or Orbit).

    About the Role

    As an integral contributor to the Office of Admission, the Associate Director of Admission will be responsible for contributing to the student recruitment, selection, application, admission, financial aid, and enrollment processes.     • Train Admission team members in basic Slate functions and troubleshoot common errors.
    • In collaboration with senior Enrollment Management leadership, develop, sustain, and audit data transfer policies and procedures from third-party enrollment partners.
    • Support the Enrollment Management marketing and communications plan by managing processes related to the e-communications flow including mailings, call lists, SMS messaging, and other projects as assigned.

     

    Position Qualifications

    The Director of the Center for Learning Excellence (CLE) plays a pivotal role in fostering student academic success at Hollins University.     • Establish and maintain effective policies, procedures, and assessment strategies to ensure high-quality tutoring services.
    • Collaborate with faculty to identify areas of academic need and develop targeted support programs, including supplemental instruction and embedded tutoring models.
    • Oversee the budget and resource allocation for the tutoring program.

     

    • Student Staff Recruitment, Training, and Supervision:
    • Recruit, hire, train, supervise, and evaluate a diverse team of student peer tutors.

    About the Role

    The Enterprise Data Administrator reports to the Chief Information Officer and works with the other members of the Administrative Computing team to administer and support the university’s ERP system (Ellucian Banner) and its integrations with third-party applications (file-based, API, and web services), particularly operational reporting tools.  This position consults, trains, and supports various campus constituent groups to ensure these applications are used effectively and securely.  Additionally, this role monitors the Banner Support Line (Help Desk) and directly supports Banner users in various functional areas such as the Business Office, Financial Aid, Institutional Advancement, Registrar’s Office, etc.

    • Create training materials and support documentation for the university’s enterprise data applications.

    Successful applicants must have a high school diploma or equivalent; minimum of two years of general maintenance experience; general knowledge of maintenance of carpentry items and heating, air conditioning, steam, condensate, and chilled water lines; basic knowledge of safety checks and minor repairs to vehicles and small equipment; full range of body motion including lifting/carrying up to 50 pounds; abilities to operate motorized equipment and hand and power tools; ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying environments; excellent communication skills; and a valid United States driver’s license with minimal violations.  Must also be a self-starter, team player, have basic computer skills, and ability to understand and follow directions.

This is a full-time, 11-month (August – June) position reporting to the Director of Athletics in conjunction with the Women’s Cross-Country and Track & Field Head Coach.

    About the Role

    Indoor and outdoor sport coaching duties including supporting the head coach through coaching, student-athlete development, recruitment, and program administration, as well as helping advance Hollins’ diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging goals, and working effectively with a diverse student population. This position may also teach physical education courses.

    Position Qualifications

    Successful applicants must have a bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience, a thorough understanding and working knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations and NSCA principles, possession of (or ability to obtain upon hire) first aid and CPR certifications, and a valid United States driver’s license with minimal violations. Candidates must demonstrate effective coaching methods; exhibit excellent recruiting, leadership, role-modeling, organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills; have demonstrated success working with diverse populations; and possess Microsoft Office proficiency. Applicants must have abilities to work well with students, families, and campus constituencies, as well as work independently and as part of a team. Candidates must also be willing and able to travel and work evenings and weekends. Applicants with experience as a sprints, jumps, and hurdles coach; minimum of one year of relevant coaching experience (preferably at the collegiate level); as a physical education instructor; and in a single-sex, residential, liberal arts higher education institution are preferred.

In addition to coaching responsibilities, this position will direct and facilitate recruitment for the program(s) working towards roster goals provided by the Director of Athletics. Additionally, the Head Coach will be engaged in culture and team-building within the program focusing on engagement of returning student-athletes. Other responsibilities include administration of the program, including scheduling of competitions, coordination of team travel, and budget management. The Head Coach must demonstrate a commitment to advancing Hollins’ diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging goals and working effectively with a diverse student population.
