Lindsey Moser

Lindsey Moser ’15 is proud to call Hollins home for the second time, now as university chaplain and director of interfaith belonging. Involved in ministry since 2011, Lindsey has most recently served in the U.S. Air Force as a chaplain. She attended Virginia Western Community College and received her A.A. in liberal arts before transferring to Hollins and majoring in English with a minor in French and a certificate in leadership. Developing her passion for medieval literature and theology, Lindsey received her M.A. in English from the University of Auckland in 2018. Complementing her M.A.R. and M.Div. from Liberty School of Divinity, Lindsey developed ministry skills in urban church plants, bilingual communities overseas, the Rescue Mission of Roanoke, and Air Force chapels in both Reserve and active duty components. Lindsey is currently writing her dissertation focused on eroticism in Bernard of Clairvaux’s monastic sermons on the Song of Songs. Her expertise spans medieval theology, sexuality and spirituality, pluralism, feminist/womanist theologies, embodied spirituality, bibliotherapy, perinatal mental health, and holistic wellness practices. She and her husband James (M.A.L.S. ’07) live in Boones Mill with their sweet toddlers, Jimmy and Barney, and are welcoming a baby girl in June. When she is not drinking coffee or nursing a failing sourdough starter, Lindsey can be found with her nose in a book and a crochet hook in hand.
