Cristo Rey Network University Partner Program
Hollins University is proud to announce an exciting new partnership with the Cristo Rey Network, a distinguished network of 40 college preparatory high schools serving students with limited economic resources across the United States. Through this collaboration, Hollins expands its commitment to creating affordable pathways for talented students nationwide to access a transformative college education. This collaboration underscores both organizations’ commitment to fostering academic success, equity, and opportunity for students from families of limited economic means.
The partnership is part of the CRN’s University Partner Program, launched in 2009 to create pathways for Cristo Rey students to access and thrive in post-secondary education. Hollins joins a distinguished group of colleges and universities that demonstrate a shared dedication to advancing the Cristo Rey mission of opening doors to opportunity and equipping students with the knowledge, character, and skills needed to achieve their aspirations.
“We are thrilled to announce our partnership with Hollins University, a dynamic women’s institution dedicated to providing holistic support and an empowering environment for Cristo Rey Network graduates,” says Sonya Ramirez, Cristo Rey’s Director of University Partnerships. “This collaboration offers our students a unique postsecondary pathway to grow and develop into the next generation of female leaders.”
A Shared Vision for Student Success
The collaboration between CRN and Hollins is designed to increase college match, access, persistence, and graduation rates among Cristo Rey students and alumnae. Hollins will provide a comprehensive support system, combining its staff resources with Cristo Rey’s alumni support teams to ensure a seamless transition and continued success for students from enrollment through graduation. “Joining the Cristo Rey Network as a university partner is a tremendous honor and aligns with Hollins’ commitment to providing access to higher education for talented, hardworking students. Cristo Rey not only prepares students for success in college but also equips them with an important foundation of skills needed to thrive in a rapidly changing world. We are excited to play a role in empowering these remarkable students to achieve their goals” adds Ashley Browning, Vice President for Enrollment Management.
Scholarship Opportunity
As part of the partnership, Hollins University will offer competitive financial aid packaging to Cristo Rey students, including an annual award that meets no less than 100% of student’s demonstrated need with no required loans — tuition, fees, and on-campus food and housing, ensuring that financial barriers do not hinder student success—for five to ten CRN students.
Founded in 1842, Hollins University is dedicated to academic excellence, creativity, belonging, and preparing students for lives of purpose. Hollins provides an outstanding and academically rigorous undergraduate liberal arts education for women and entrepreneurial and innovative graduate programs for all in a gender-inclusive environment.
