    About the Role

    The analyst is primarily responsible for supporting treasury, tax, and financial reporting for the university.  Additionally, this position reports to and assists the controller with financial reporting of the HOPE scholars’ program, as well as providing coverage in the payroll and accounts payable areas.

    Specific duties include the following:

    • Oversee cash flows to ensure the availability of funds for daily operations. Serve as primary liaison for treasury operations, investments, and related compliance.
    • Monitor pre- and post- award administration of federal and state grant programs, including safeguarding and disbursement of funds and submission of required financial reporting.
    • Support the controller with advancement activity (review of pledge, endowment, and deferred giving agreements) and reconciliation of campaign funds declared versus funds posted to the general ledger.

    Position Qualifications

    Successful applicants must have the following qualifications and experience:

    • Bachelor’s degree.
    • Minimum of three years of financial or accounting experience.
    • Extensive Microsoft Excel experience and proficiency in the use of computerized systems, notably Word, SharePoint, Adobe, and database/business intelligence applications.

    • Reimagine the current scope of New Student Orientation to support building students’ connections to the university while also laying a foundation that can be built upon for success at Hollins.
    • Coordinate community service opportunities for students throughout the year as a means of strengthening institutional relationships within the region while also developing a sense of service responsibility in students.
    • Collaborate with the Batten Leadership Institute and other internal or external stakeholders to provide leadership training for student leaders throughout the year.
    • Develop assessment tools to measure efficacy and impact of student programming.

    About the Role

    The Dean of Students fosters a culture of inclusion, belonging, and engagement for Hollins University students by applying student development theories and learning outcomes that promote students’ academic, social, and emotional success, thereby increasing student satisfaction and retention. This position reports to the Vice President for Student Success, Well-Being, and Belonging and supervises and provides leadership for the Dean of Students office, Housing and Residence Life (HRL), Student Success Coaches, and the CARE Team process.

    The Dean of Students leads the efforts of Student Success, Well-Being, and Belonging division in student crisis management and behavioral assessment including the development of policies, procedures, and protocols to ensure student safety, accountability, and responsiveness to critical needs. This position serves as a point of contact for crisis response involving students and is chair of the CARE team.

    The Dean of Students advocates for student concerns/issues and acts as an agent to promote positive institutional change. This role manages departments that provide student learning and development opportunities through student engagement, leadership development, and residential education. Additionally, the Dean of Students administers the policies and regulations of Hollins as they pertain to students, including disciplinary procedures and student grievance and response protocols. This position also creates cross-campus partnerships that foster community, student civility, and social responsibility to build a vibrant intercultural campus climate.

    Specific duties include the following:

    Administration and Management 

    • Direct, manage, and supervise the Dean of Students office and all programs reporting to the office.
    • Establish and implement short- and long-range department goals, objectives, budgets, and operating procedures.
    • Collaborate with the Admission Office to verify enrolled students per semester.
    • Facilitate weekly CARE Team meetings and best practices for student follow-up protocol with a variety of offices.
    • Facilitate the student conduct process ensuring timely investigation and adjudication of reports of alleged student misconduct.
    • In partnership with VP for Student Success, Well-Being, and Belonging and Director of HRL, develop and communicate a student early return move-in schedule.
    • Coordinate the summer housing plan with HRL, Graduate Programs and Continuing Studies, Admission, Special Events, and Facilities.
    • Serve as the back-up on-call staff member for the Director of HRL.

    The Director of Alumnae/i Events reports to the Associate Vice President for Alumnae/i Engagement and Strategic Initiatives and supervises one (1) student worker during the academic year and 16-20 student workers leading up to and during Reunion (March – June).

    About the Role

    The Director of Digital and Web Strategies manages the ongoing maintenance and functionality of Hollins’ presence across the digital landscape in support of the university’s overarching mission, goals, and strategic plan. This responsibility includes, but is not limited to, the integration, implementation, and performance of hollins.edu and other websites and applications in an effort to provide a high-quality digital user experience for internal and external constituents. The director also proactively collaborates with internal and external partners to strengthen web marketing solutions.     • Serve as primary manager of hollins.edu and other third-party landing pages and sites including the Hollins Magazine site, virtual tour, and others. Oversee day-to-day website performance and maintenance, collaborate with and train other content editors, maintain quality assurance and user experience, and ensure adherence to brand and content guidelines.
    • Work with the executive director to integrate key concepts connected to the brand, the mission, and the strategic plan to develop a digital communications strategy for content and copy
    • Reconstruct and manage the Hollins internet site, applying sound information architecture techniques to support findability and usability with a mobile-first approach and to create a positive user experience and one that reflects the goals, audiences, and information structures unique to Hollins’ entire public digital portfolio
    • In close collaboration with key Admission, Academic Affairs, and Institutional Advancement staff, develop and implement a web communications plan that supports undergraduate and graduate student recruitment, fundraising initiatives, alumnae/i engagement, special events and programming, camps and conferences, and other activities related to the university’s strategic plan
    • Supervise the Multimedia Specialist and Social Media Specialist to ensure strategic integration across digital media outlets for optimal impact
    • Work with the executive director and other marcomm team members to ensure seamless integration of the Hollins brand across print and digital platforms

    • Ability to work well with students and colleagues from diverse backgrounds and with varying levels of riding experience
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
    • Ability and willingness to transport horses for off-campus appointments and competitions
    • Ability and willingness to travel and work evenings and weekends
    • Valid United State driver’s license with minimal violations

     

    Preferred candidates will have the following:

    • College degree
    • Experience with intercollegiate riding
    • Experience training hunters and jumpers
    • Experience with coaching students in both collegiate and open competitions
    • Experience driving a rig and six-horse trailer
    • Experience in a single-sex, residential, liberal arts higher education institution
