Thanks to the efforts of Hollins alumnae, manager Karen Callaway, and the university’s offices of alumnae relations and the president, the Hollins Bookstore now boasts an improved inventory and a new website for online shopping.
“You’ll see revived tried-and-true classics, as well as new items for students, alumnae, and friends of Hollins,” says Elizabeth Joyce ’96, who played a key role along with Hilary Bumm ’93 and Marian “Marnie” Livingston Vanderpoel ’76 in creating the website.
Joyce is the owner of Elizabeth Joyce Monograms and Harbor Specialties, a shop in Charleston, South Carolina, that specializes in personalized and engraved gifts. Bumm is a partner with Speak Boutique Public Relations in Atlanta, and Vanderpoel is an image consultant and wardrobe stylist at Doncaster.
More changes are planned. Along with continuing to add new items to the website, the bookstore’s physical location will move this fall from the lower level of Moody Student Center to a more visible location on the main floor next to the dining area.
All proceeds and profits from the Hollins Bookstore directly support the university.
