Hollins University has been recognized by the ALL IN Campus Democracy Challenge (ALL IN) as a 2024 ALL IN Most Engaged Campus for College Student Voting.
This honor recognizes Hollins’ outstanding efforts to increase nonpartisan student voter participation. Hollins joins a group of 471 colleges and universities recognized for excellence in supporting student civic engagement
“I am deeply proud of our students’ and community’s commitment to the core of our democratic process—voting,” said Hollins University President Mary Dana Hinton. “It is truly an honor to be selected as a Most Engaged Campus for College Student Voting. Hollins empowers women to use their voice, especially at the voting booth. Our students worked very hard to turn out the vote on campus this fall, while displaying respect and civility for all. Being recognized nationally as a leader in nonpartisan student civic engagement and student voter turnout underscores Hollins’ mission and vision as being more resonant and relevant than ever.”
This year, more colleges and universities than ever before stepped up their efforts to ensure that their students were registered and ready to make their voices heard at the ballot box, said Jennifer Donagal-Goldman, Executive Director of the ALL IN Campus Democracy Challenge. “These Most Engaged Campuses are setting the standard for nonpartisan civic engagement work for colleges and universities across the country.”
The ALL IN Campus Democracy Challenge empowers colleges and universities to achieve excellence in nonpartisan student democratic engagement and to improve civic learning, political engagement, and voter participation on more than 1,075 campuses nationwide. Campuses that join the ALL IN Campus Democracy Challenge complete a set of action items, with the support of ALL IN staff, to institutionalize nonpartisan civic learning and voter participation on their campus.
ALL IN is an initiative of the Civic Nation nonprofit that strives to build a more inclusive and equitable America.
